How do we know Jesus is our only substitute for sin?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is the perfect lamb of God, signifying that His sacrifice alone is sufficient to atone for our sins.

In the scriptures, the offering of Abel signifies the necessity of a blood sacrifice, foreshadowing Jesus Christ, who is called the Lamb of God in John 1:29. Abel brought the firstling of his flock, a perfect lamb, which symbolizes Christ’s sinlessness and His role as our substitute for sin. Hebrews 9:22 states that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. Thus, Jesus, through His perfect sacrifice, fulfills the requirements of the law and provides atonement, confirming that He is our only substitute for sin.
