How do we know Jesus is our perfect high priest?

Answered in 4 sources

Jesus is our perfect high priest because He offers a once-for-all sacrifice, unlike the repeated sacrifices of the Levitical priests.

The priesthood of Jesus is established in Hebrews 7 as fundamentally superior to the old Levitical system. While the Aaronic priests offered sacrifices repeatedly for their own sins and the people’s sins, Jesus, being sinless, offers Himself as the perfect sacrifice. Hebrews 10:11-14 highlights that His single offering perfected forever those who are being sanctified. This indicates that His high priesthood, linked to the eternal order of Melchizedek, brings about a better covenant and a permanent reconciliation with God, allowing believers to draw near to the throne of grace with confidence.
