How do we know Jesus is our shelter during judgment?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus serves as our shelter from God's judgment, taking upon Himself the wrath meant for sinners.

In John 12:27, Jesus reveals His soul is troubled as He prepares to face the impending judgment at the cross. He came specifically to be the shelter for His followers, offering protection from God's terrifying wrath. Just as the storm was upon the preacher and his family during their hike, so too will God’s judgment fall heavily upon those outside of Christ. However, because Jesus has taken that judgment upon Himself, we find security and safety as we trust in Him. Thus, we are assured that in Christ, we have nothing to fear no matter the storms of life.
