How do we know Jesus is our shield?

Answered in 2 sources

We know Jesus is our shield because He defends us against all spiritual attacks through His sacrifice and resurrection.

Jesus is referred to as our shield because He provides protection against the accusations of Satan and the consequences of our sins. In Genesis 15:1, God tells Abraham, 'I am thy shield,' demonstrating His promise of protection. Likewise, in our spiritual battles, we can rely on the truth that Jesus has atoned for our sins, becoming our defense. The devil may try to convince us of our unworthiness, but the blood of Christ reassures us of our justification and acceptance before God. With Christ as our shield, we can face any spiritual assault with confidence.
