Answered in 5 sources

Jesus is known as our true friend because He loves us unconditionally and is always present in our times of need.

We recognize Jesus as our true friend through His steadfast love and presence in our lives. The character of His friendship is evident in His willingness to associate with sinners and the marginalized, demonstrating that His love knows no bounds. In Matthew 11:19, He is called 'a friend of publicans and sinners,' highlighting His desire to be with those who are in need of grace. Moreover, His promise to never leave us nor forsake us assures us that His friendship is eternal and unchanging, providing comfort even in our darkest moments.
