How do we know Jesus is the center of our faith?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is identified as the center of faith through His character, work, and teachings, which embody the essence of true believers.

Understanding that Jesus Christ is the center of our faith is foundational in Reformed theology. The sermon highlights that the name of Christ is synonymous with the faith of believers; His person, works, character, and teachings reflect what true faith entails. Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life' (John 14:6), which affirms that all truth and faith must revolve around Him. Our understanding of doctrines such as election, justification, and sanctification can only be grasped through the lens of Christ's redemptive work.

If believers do not see Christ as the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end of their faith (Revelation 1:8), they fail to embrace the fullness of what it means to follow Him. Faith is not an abstract concept; it is deeply relational and personal because faith in Christ leads to assurance of salvation, a transformed life, and a heart that desires to submit to God's will. Therefore, recognizing Jesus as the center guides believers in all aspects of doctrine and practice.
