How do we know Jesus is the Chief Shepherd?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is recognized as the Chief Shepherd because He has authority over all pastors and local churches as the ultimate overseer.

In 1 Peter 5:4, we learn about the role of Jesus as the Chief Shepherd: 'And when the chief shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.' This verse highlights His authority and position as the ultimate caregiver of His flock. All under-shepherds, or pastors, are accountable to Him, and they are tasked with feeding and caring for His sheep. His guidance is foundational to the church's mission and integrity in preaching the gospel.
