How do we know Jesus is the fulfillment of God's covenant?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is the fulfillment of God's covenant because He meets all the requirements established for our redemption, as affirmed in Psalm 119 and throughout the New Testament.

Jesus Christ is seen as the ultimate fulfillment of God's everlasting covenant, both in His life and through His sacrificial death. The sermon emphasizes that we cannot claim any of the promises of the covenant apart from Him; it is through His obedience and sacrificial role that the terms of the covenant are accomplished. As stated in John 15, Jesus is the true vine, and we are the branches; our union with Him is essential for life and fulfillment of God's promises.

Psalm 119 reminds us of the significance of remembering God's word and His covenant promises, which Jesus embodies fully. As He completed the work required by the everlasting covenant, He firmly established a new relationship between God and His people, one where true salvation is secured. Thus, all blessings and assurances from God's covenant are realized in Christ alone, affirming His pivotal role in the unfolding of redemptive history.
