How do we know Jesus is the fulfillment of the desire of the heart of David?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus perfectly fulfills the desire of David's heart as the ultimate King and Savior.

The life and heart of David serve as a foreshadowing of Christ. Acts 13:22 testifies that God found David a man after His own heart, illustrating that David's desires mirrored God's will. However, David was still flawed, and it is Jesus, the ultimate fulfillment, who lived without sin and perfectly accomplished the will of the Father (Hebrews 10:7). In this way, Jesus embodies the essence of what it means to have a heart aligned with God's desires—a notion that fulfills the longings of both David and every believer.
