How do we know Jesus is the mediator of the New Covenant?

Answered in 4 sources

Jesus is recognized as the mediator of the New Covenant because He fulfills the role envisioned in Jacob's dream, serving as the connection between heaven and earth.

The New Testament reveals that Jesus Christ is the mediator of the New Covenant, a truth that is foreshadowed in Jacob's dream at Bethel where he sees a ladder with angels ascending and descending. This ladder symbolizes Christ, who is the Way to the Father, as stated in John 14:6. Jesus Himself referred to this event when He spoke to Nathanael, affirming that angels would ascend and descend upon Him (John 1:51). Therefore, the fulfillment of this typology supports the understanding of Christ as the sole mediator through whose grace believers can access God.
