How do we know Jesus is the promised Lamb of God?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is the promised Lamb because He fulfills all the Old Testament prophecies and types concerning the sacrifice for sin.

Jesus is the promised Lamb of God as He fulfills the Old Testament types and prophecies. For instance, Isaac asked Abraham about the lamb before his sacrifice, and Abraham responded, 'God will provide Himself a lamb' (Genesis 22:8). This clearly points to Jesus, who is the fulfillment of that promise. In addition, Scriptures like Isaiah 53 detail the suffering Messiah who would bear the iniquities of His people. The consistency and fulfillment of these prophecies in the New Testament confirm that Jesus is indeed the Lamb appointed for our redemption.
