How do we know Jesus is the promised prophet?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is confirmed as the promised prophet through prophetic fulfillment in the New Testament.

The New Testament explicitly identifies Jesus as the fulfillment of the prophecy found in Deuteronomy 18:15-18. In Acts 3:22, Peter cites this prophecy while asserting that Jesus is the prophet whom God promised to raise up. Furthermore, the manner in which Jesus acted as God’s prophet, both in His teachings and miracles, attests to His role and authority as the Messiah. The New Testament authors consistently affirm that Jesus speaks the words of God, distinguishing Him from all prior prophets.
