How do we know Jesus is the true Lamb of God?

Answered in 6 sources

Jesus is known as the true Lamb of God because He is the only one who perfectly fulfills the role of the sacrificial lamb, taking away our sins.

Jesus is depicted as the true Lamb of God in both the Old and New Testaments. Revelation 13:8 states He is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, indicating His role in God's salvation plan. Furthermore, John the Baptist proclaims Him as the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. Unlike the false prophets who speak lies, Jesus embodies absolute truth, having been sent by the Father to speak His commandments and accomplish His will. His sacrificial death and resurrection confirm His identity as the true Lamb of God who redeems His people.
