How do we know Jesus is the true physician for our spiritual needs?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is affirmed as the true physician who heals our sin sickness through His sacrifice on the cross.

Jesus is depicted as the Great Physician in Scripture, particularly in passages like Matthew 9:12-13, where He states, 'It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.' The healing of the woman with the issue of blood illustrates that true healing comes not from external efforts or false prophets, but through faith in Christ alone. Her willingness to reach out and touch His garment reflects the desperation in recognizing that only Jesus could heal her spiritual afflictions. In the Reformed tradition, we uphold that Jesus's perfect sacrifice on the cross was sufficient to address our deepest needs and that it is by faith in Him alone that we receive true healing and wholeness.
