How do we know Jesus is the ultimate high priest?

Answered in 2 sources

Jesus is confirmed as the ultimate high priest through His sacrificial atonement and the prophetic fulfillment of Old Testament types.

In the New Testament, specifically in Hebrews, Jesus is frequently referred to as our High Priest who surpasses the Levitical priesthood. Unlike the priests of the Old Covenant, who were limited and had to offer sacrifices repeatedly, Jesus offered Himself once for all, securing eternal redemption for those who believe. Hebrews 7 describes Him as a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek, emphasizing His eternal, unchanging priesthood, which makes Him the perfect mediator between God and man. The blood He shed fulfills the foreshadows of the Levitical sacrifices, demonstrating that He is the ultimate sacrificial lamb required to atone for all sin.
