How do we know Jesus is the water of life?

Answered in 2 sources

Jesus is identified as the water of life because He provides eternal life and spiritual nourishment to those who believe in Him.

In the context of John 7, Jesus is portrayed as the fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles, which symbolizes God's provision for His people. During the feast, He invited those who thirst for righteousness to come to Him, stressing that He is the true source of spiritual life. This message is echoed in the metaphorical 'living water' that flows from believers, representing the transformative work of the Holy Spirit. When we drink from this well of faith, which is Christ, we receive eternal life and are refreshed continually by His presence within us. Thus, His identity as the water of life is confirmed through His redemptive work and the ongoing presence of the Spirit in the life of every believer.
