How do we know Jesus loves us even when we are suffering?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus's love is constant, even during our trials and sufferings.

The account of Lazarus in John 11 explicitly tells us that Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. Despite their suffering, Jesus did not abandon them. This teaches us that the love of Christ transcends our circumstances; even in our trials, He cares for us deeply. The narrative highlights that sickness does not denote a lack of God's love or favor. True Christians can be assured that Jesus's love remains steadfast, reminding us that His ways, while sometimes mysterious, are always rooted in wisdom and ultimate good for our souls.
