How do we know Jesus' priesthood is superior?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus' priesthood is superior because He is sinless, eternal, and provided a once-for-all sacrifice, unlike the temporary sacrifices of the Old Testament priests.

The superiority of Christ's priesthood is established in Hebrews 5 and 7. Unlike the Old Testament priests, who had to continually offer sacrifices due to their own sins, Jesus, being sinless, needed only to make one sacrifice—His own blood. This sacrifice effectively atoned for all sins, fulfilling the requirement for perpetual atonement. Furthermore, Jesus is in the order of Melchizedek, which signifies that His priesthood is eternal and does not rely on genealogical succession like that of Aaron's line.
