How do we know Jesus' sacrifice was sufficient for our salvation?

Answered in 5 sources

Jesus' sacrifice is sufficient because it fully satisfies God's justice, allowing God to forgive sinners without compromising His holiness.

The sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice is rooted in the character of God and the nature of sin. God is both holy and just, meaning He must punish sin. However, in Jesus' sacrificial death, justice was satisfied. As discussed in the sermon, it is not possible for any sinner for whom Christ died to suffer God's wrath. This is confirmed by Scripture in Romans, where we learn that being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus is how we can stand righteous before God. Christ's atoning work is complete and perfect, making Him the only acceptable substitute for sinners.
