How do we know Jesus truly forgives our sins?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus forgives our sins through His sacrificial death and the promise of eternal life for all who believe in Him.

The assurance of forgiveness comes from the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross and the biblical promises presented through scripture. In John 3:16, it states that God gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. This encapsulates the grace extended to sinners who acknowledge their need for salvation. Romans 8:1 further reassures believers that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, affirming the totality of His forgiveness. Therefore, as one comes to Christ in repentance, believing in His sufficiency, they can be certain of their forgiveness based on His inherent nature and the authority of His words.
