How do we know Jesus was tempted yet did not sin?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus faced real temptations, but His divine nature meant He could not yield to sin.

The temptations of Jesus were genuine, aimed at His human nature. However, His divine nature ensured His inability to sin. Temptation itself does not equate to sinning; rather, it provides an opportunity to demonstrate strength in holiness. In Matthew 4:1-11, we see Christ being tempted by Satan, illustrating how He met temptation through prayer and reliance on God's Word, thereby affirming His perfect obedience. Therefore, His experience of temptation enhances His role as a sympathizing High Priest, providing a perfect example for believers while also guaranteeing His sinlessness.
