How do we know Jesus willingly suffered for us?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus' acceptance of binding and leading demonstrated His willingness to suffer for our sins in fulfillment of God's redemptive plan (John 18:13).

The Gospel of John records that Jesus was bound and led away, emphasizing His voluntary submission to this fate (John 18:13). Despite possessing the power to escape or resist, Jesus chose to go along with His captors, showcasing His love for sinners and His commitment to fulfill the mission entrusted to Him by the Father. This act of willingly accepting suffering not only illustrates His deep compassion but also highlights that all of this transpired according to God's sovereign plan, allowing grace to triumph over sin. He willingly took on the punishment we deserved so that we could be reconciled to God.
