How do we know leaning on Christ is true?

Answered in 1 source

Leaning on Christ is grounded in His promises and the assurance found in Scripture regarding His faithfulness and love.

The assurance that we can lean on Christ is founded on His promises and character made known through Scripture. He is depicted as a steadfast support during trials, a friend that is nearer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). Those who have gone before us testify of His faithfulness, as seen in 2 Timothy 1:12, where Paul expresses confidence in Christ's ability to guard what has been committed to Him. Our leaning must originate from an understanding of His completed work and ongoing intercession for us, supporting our salvation and daily sustenance (Hebrews 7:25). Hence, it is grounded in the deep theological truth of His divine nature and redemptive plan.
