How do we know love for Christ is sincere?

Answered in 1 source

Sincere love for Christ is evidenced by a genuine affection for Him, recognizing His true nature and work on our behalf.

Sincere love for Christ means loving Him without ulterior motives, genuinely seeing Him as lovely and worthy of our affection. In Ephesians 6:24, it is stated that grace is extended to those who love the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. This love arises from recognizing who Christ is—God manifest in the flesh—and understanding the magnitude of His sacrifice and victory over sin. A true believer acknowledges that without Christ’s love, their heart would remain untouched by grace. Therefore, a sincere love is characterized by deep appreciation for all that Christ is and has done, leading to an unwavering trust in Him.
