How do we know love is the fulfillment of the law?

Answered in 2 sources

Love is the fulfillment of the law as all commandments are based on genuine love for God and neighbor.

The connection between love and the fulfillment of the law is both theologically significant and practically relevant. Paul asserts in 1 Timothy 1:5 that love is the endpoint of the law, encapsulating all moral requirements placed upon humanity. Jesus affirmed this in Matthew 22:37-40, where He summarized the law with the command to love God and love others. Thus, true obedience to the law is expressed through love; if one loves God supremely, they will naturally adhere to the commandments meant to guide such love, which includes both devotion to God and moral obligations to others.
