How do we know man is sinful according to the Bible?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible reveals the depth of human sinfulness in light of God's holiness, showing that all have sinned.

The understanding of sin is deeply connected to our understanding of God's holiness. Job's realization of his sinfulness came after he encountered God's glory, which is indicated in Job 42:5-6, where he says he abhors himself in dust and ashes. Similarly, Isaiah, a prophet, proclaimed his unclean state after seeing the Lord in Isaiah 6. These encounters reveal that true awareness of sin comes from seeing God’s holiness. Romans 3:23 confirms, 'For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,' indicating that every human being is affected by sin and in need of redemption.
