How do we know Micaiah is a true prophet?

Answered in 1 source

Micaiah is a true prophet because he faithfully communicates God's message without compromise.

Micaiah's authenticity as a true prophet is affirmed through his commitment to speak only the words given to him by the Lord. Unlike the false prophets who were on Ahab's payroll and told him what he wanted to hear, Micaiah stood firm in relaying God’s actual message, regardless of the personal risk to himself. He exemplified the biblical standard for prophecy by prioritizing God's truth over personal safety or popularity, as seen in his declaration in verse 13: "As the Lord liveth, what my God saith, that will I speak." Furthermore, Proverbs 29:25 adds that the fear of man brings a snare, while he who trusts in the Lord will be safe, highlighting Micaiah's trust in God over human approval.
