How do we know miracles are for God's glory?

Answered in 1 source

Miracles are intended not just for human benefit but primarily to glorify God and confirm His message.

The purpose of miracles in the Scriptures often extends beyond the immediate relief or benefit to individuals. For instance, in Exodus, the signs performed by Moses were aimed at making the Israelites believe in the glorified God who delivered them from Egypt (Exodus 4:5). Similarly, in the New Testament, Jesus' miracles served to verify His identity as the Son of God and fulfill prophecies, emphasizing that His ministry was ultimately about the glory of God and the establishment of His Kingdom. Thus, while miracles can have personal significance, their overarching aim is to point people back to God and affirm His sovereign will in history.
