How do we know new birth is necessary for salvation?

New birth is necessary because we are spiritually dead in our sins and need divine regeneration to have spiritual life (Ephesians 2:1).

The Bible presents humanity as fallen and spiritually dead due to sin (Ephesians 2:1). This spiritual death signifies an inability to respond to God's truth or comprehend the kingdom of God. The necessity of new birth arises from our condition; regeneration is the divine act of God that imparts spiritual life, enabling us to recognize and accept the truths of salvation. Thus, the new birth is foundational to our faith and understanding of the gospel.
