How do we know only Christ can intercede for sinners?

The New Testament explicitly states that there is one mediator between God and men: the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5). This mediatorial role is crucial because it emphasizes the unique position that Jesus holds in reconciling sinful humanity to a holy God. Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection empowered Him to be the sole intercessor for those who have sinned against God, bearing their transgressions and appeasing divine justice. Unlike any earthly mediator, Jesus meets both requirements—He is fully God and fully man—enabling Him to bridge the gap created by sin.
