How do we know our eternal souls are safe?

Answered in 1 source

Our eternal safety is guaranteed by the finished work of Christ, who died for our sins and reconciled us to God.

The assurance of our souls' safety is fundamentally linked to faith in Christ's atoning work. Ephesians 1:7 reminds us that in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our sins. This emphasizes that our safety is not based on our merits or efforts but wholly on Christ's finished work on the cross. Moreover, the promise of eternal life in John 3:16 reassures believers that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. This eternal security is further confirmed in Philippians 1:6, where Paul states that He who began a good work in us will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Thus, our safety is secured by God’s sovereign grace and the perfect righteousness of Christ, which clothes us and makes us beautiful in His sight.
