How do we know our faith can produce forgiveness?

Answered in 1 source

Scripture shows that true faith connects our understanding of God's forgiveness with our ability to forgive others.

In the teaching of Jesus, particularly in Luke 17, faith is directly linked to our capacity to forgive those who have offended us. The request from the disciples for increased faith came immediately after Jesus instructed them on the necessity of forgiving those who sin against them repeatedly. Recognizing the vastness of our own sin against God (Luke 7:47), true faith understands the enormity of His forgiveness motivates us to forgive others. Forgiveness becomes a reflection of our understanding of the grace given to us, as seen in Ephesians 4:32, where we are called to forgive one another as God has forgiven us.
