How do we know our faith is true saving faith?

Answered in 5 sources

True saving faith is evidenced by a firm belief in God's promises and the ability to trust Christ for salvation amidst life's challenges.

The assurance of true saving faith lies in its characteristics, as delineated in Romans chapter 4. This faith believes in the power of God who gives life to the dead, is based on the promises found in Scripture, and does not waver in the face of difficulties. As seen in the example of Abraham, saving faith looks beyond his circumstances and trusts God who guarantees His promises. True saving faith also glorifies God, relying entirely on the righteousness provided in Christ, which is imputed to believers. This assurance stems from being fully persuaded of God's faithfulness to fulfill His promises, as outlined in verses 20-21.
