How do we know our hearts can be made clean by God?

Psalm 51:10 records David's plea, 'Create in me a clean heart, O God.' This verse illustrates the truth that a clean heart is a divine creation, a work that only God can do. Ephesians 2:10 further affirms that we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.
