How do we know our hope for heaven is true?

Answered in 1 source

Our hope for heaven is grounded in the unchanging promises of God, confirmed through Scripture and the work of Christ.

We can be assured of our hope for heaven due to the unwavering nature of God's promises. As it states in Titus 1:2, God, who cannot lie, has promised us eternal life before the world began. This assurance is further solidified through the work of Christ, who accomplished redemption on the cross and was raised for our justification (Romans 4:25). The Holy Spirit, given to us as the 'earnest' or down payment of our future inheritance, serves as a reminder that we will partake in the fullness of God's promises. Our hope is further evidenced by our faith in Christ, which is a gift of grace that enables us to trust in what we cannot see.
