How do we know our hope in Christ is genuine?

Answered in 2 sources

A genuine hope in Christ can be explained, is drawn from Scripture, and rests entirely on His work.

To discern the genuineness of our hope in Christ, we consider several marks of a good hope outlined in the sermon. Firstly, a good hope is one that can be explained; believers should articulate the basis of their hope clearly (1 Peter 3:15). Secondly, our hope must be firmly rooted in the Scriptures, drawing on verses that affirm God’s promises (Romans 15:4). Furthermore, this hope rests entirely on Christ and His redemptive work, affirming that it is by His blood and righteousness that we stand accepted before God (1 Timothy 1:1). If we are unable to explain or locate our hope in these truths, our hope may be in question.
