How do we know our motives please God?

Answered in 1 source

God is pleased when our motives align with the intention to glorify Him in all we do.

To ensure our motives please God, we must examine whether our actions spring from a desire to glorify Him. Actions that are outwardly correct may still be unacceptable if accompanied by a wrong attitude, as highlighted in Matthew 23:28. When we sincerely desire God's glory above our own recognition, our motives align with His will, thus pleasing Him. Scripture reminds us of the importance of seeking God’s approval over man’s in Galatians 1:10. Ultimately, our actions and motives will be assessed at the judgment seat of Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11-15), where pure motives stand eternal.
