How do we know our religious profession is real?

Answered in 1 source

A genuine religious profession is evident through discernible fruits of the Spirit in one's life (Matthew 7:16-20).

A true religious profession is not merely about outward appearances but is deeply rooted in the heart. Matthew 7:16-20 teaches us that we can identify the authenticity of our faith by the fruits it produces in our lives. This includes qualities like love, humility, and a desire for holiness. A genuine relationship with Christ will inevitably lead to a transformative effect on one’s actions and attitudes. If our profession lacks visible fruit, we must examine whether our faith is true, as authentic faith produces fruit consistent with a life transformed by the grace of God.
