How do we know our salvation is solely in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone, as no works can contribute to our righteousness.

In Psalm 71, the psalmist cries out for deliverance based on God's righteousness, stating, 'Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape' (Psalm 71:2). This emphasizes that our salvation is founded not on our merit but solely on the righteousness of Christ. Romans 3:22 affirms this by stating that the righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. The prominence of Christ’s work is central to historic Reformed theology, reinforcing that we can do nothing to achieve salvation on our own.
