How do we know perseverance is a sign of true faith?

Answered in 1 source

Perseverance is evidence of true faith because it reflects a genuine work of grace in the believer's heart.

The apostle Paul writes in Philippians 1:6 that He who began a good work in us will continue it until the day of Christ. This suggests that true believers will persevere in their faith, reflecting the undeniable influence of God's grace in their lives. In the face of challenges, including the abounding lawlessness mentioned in Matthew 24, the faithful believer will not only profess their love but will actively endure to the end, demonstrating the authenticity of their faith and its roots in Christ’s redemptive work.
