How do we know prayer works?

Answered in 2 sources

Prayer works when we come to God in faith, believing He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

The efficacy of prayer is deeply tied to the exercise of faith. Hebrews 11:6 states that he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him diligently. This means prayer is not just an act of speaking words but is rooted in a heartfelt belief in God's sovereign goodness and faithfulness. The Scriptures assure us that God hears the prayers of those who earnestly seek His face, as seen throughout biblical narratives. When we seek God with all our hearts and approach Him based on His character as a rewarder, we witness His response to our prayers, which reinforces our faith and deepens our relationship with Him.
