How do we know prayer works?

Answered in 3 sources

We know prayer works because Scripture promises that God hears and answers the prayers of His people according to His will.

In Luke 11:9-10, Jesus assures us that when we ask, it will be given; when we seek, we will find; and when we knock, it will be opened to us. This passage highlights the faithfulness of God in responding to our prayers. However, it's important to understand that the effectiveness of prayer is tied to God's sovereign will and purpose, not merely our desires. The prayer of a believer, grounded in the righteousness of Christ, is listened to by our Heavenly Father, who always answers in a way that brings glory to His name and is ultimately for our good. Believers are encouraged to pray persistently, trusting that God is at work even when the answers may not come in expected ways.
