How do we know reconciliation with God is necessary?

Answered in 1 source

Reconciliation with God is essential as the Bible describes humanity as born in sin and at enmity with Him.

Scripture clearly teaches that peace with God is paramount for salvation. In Romans 5:1, it states, 'Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.' This reconciliation is vital because we are born under the curse of the law and cannot appease God's wrath on our own. Only through Christ's sacrificial atonement are we able to receive forgiveness and restore our relationship with God. The unaddressed condition of being at odds with our Creator leads to eternal damnation unless reconciled through Christ.
