How do we know redemption is complete in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

We know redemption is complete because Jesus said, 'It is finished,' affirming that all the required work for our salvation has been accomplished.

Jesus' declaration of 'It is finished' serves as a definitive statement of the completeness of redemption. Theologically, it encompasses the fulfillment of all types, promises, and prophecies from the Old Testament. It signifies that all transgressions have been completed, sins brought to an end, and reconciliation achieved. According to Daniel 9:24, Jesus completed the mission of finishing sin and making reconciliation for His people. Such statements alongside the New Testament's teachings affirm that by the finished work of Christ, our sins are fully paid and eternally removed from us, as indicated in Isaiah 53:6, where it is stated that the Lord laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Thus, the assurance of salvation rests firmly in His accomplished work.
