How do we know regeneration is the work of God?

Answered in 1 source

Regeneration is entirely the work of God, as scripture affirms that no conditions must be met by man for it to occur.

Regeneration, or the new birth, is clearly presented in the Bible as an act of God's sovereignty. For instance, John 6:44 states that no one can come to Christ unless drawn by the Father, affirming God's initiating work in salvation. Additionally, Ezekiel 36:27 speaks of God putting His Spirit within us, enabling us to walk in His statutes, which underscores that it is God who transforms and revitalizes the sinner's heart. This process is not a cooperative effort but solely the work of the Holy Spirit, who gives life as He wills, as elaborated in John 3:8.
