How do we know righteousness is true?

Answered in 12 sources

Righteousness is true as it is grounded in the nature of God and revealed through Christ, allowing believers to stand before Him as righteous.

Righteousness, according to the scriptures, is fundamentally rooted in the character of God and is revealed through Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul, in Romans 5, speaks of the gift of righteousness that believers receive through faith in Christ. This righteousness is not based on our deeds but on the completed work of Christ who, being righteous Himself, imparts His righteousness to those who believe. The act of doing righteousness is the evidence of that true righteousness within us. Therefore, the relationship between our works and our standing before God is not a means to gain acceptance but rather an outflow of the grace that establishes us as righteous in Christ.
