How do we know salvation is by grace and not by law?

Answered in 1 source

Romans 3:20 confirms that no one will be justified by the deeds of the law; salvation is solely through faith in Christ.

Salvation is fundamentally a work of divine grace, not dependent upon our adherence to the law. Romans 3:20 explicitly states, 'by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight.' This makes it clear that our good works cannot earn favor with God. Instead, righteousness and justification are ascribed to Christ alone, as affirmed in Romans 3:22-24 where it states that we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. This sovereign grace highlights that faith, not efforts, is the means by which we receive salvation. Consequently, the completion of the law was fulfilled by Christ Himself, and through Him, believers are assured of their salvation.
