How do we know salvation is possible?

Answered in 3 sources

Salvation is possible because, while it is impossible with men, it is possible with God who extends grace to sinners.

In the discussion on who can be saved, the disciples are astonished by Jesus' words regarding the difficulty for the rich to enter the kingdom of God (Mark 10:26-27). He clarifies that salvation is humanly impossible; however, it is entirely achievable through God's power. This highlights the essence of sovereign grace—that God elects, calls, and transforms individuals by His grace. Those who are aware of their spiritual bankruptcy and call out for mercy, like blind Bartimaeus, exemplify true faith, revealing that no one is beyond the reach of God's saving grace. Therefore, salvation exists through God's initiative, resulting in genuine faith and repentance.
