How do we know sin is wrong?

Answered in 1 source

Sin is wrong because it is a transgression against God's holy law.

Sin is fundamentally a rebellion against God's holy nature and His law. Romans 5:12 teaches that through one man's sin, death entered the world, illustrating that sin has fatal consequences. The seriousness of sin is further underscored in 1 Corinthians 15:56, which states, 'the sting of death is sin,' indicating that sin is the root cause of death and judgment. Because God is perfectly holy, any deviation from His righteousness is deemed sinful and deserving of judgment. Therefore, sin is wrong not merely because of social or moral constructs but because it directly contradicts God's law, which is a reflection of His character.
