How do we know someone is a true believer?

Answered in 2 sources

A true believer is recognized by their confession of Christ's lordship and their actions that reflect the truth of the gospel.

According to 1 Corinthians 12:3, no one can genuinely proclaim Jesus as Lord except by the Holy Spirit. This indicates that a true believer's confession aligns with a transformed heart that acknowledges Christ's authority. Additionally, the fruit of one's life will reflect their beliefs; Jesus stated in Matthew 7:16 that we will recognize them by their fruits. If one's actions and teachings glorify Christ and uphold the truth of the gospel, they are likely genuine believers. This discernment is essential, as it guards against being misled by those who may appear to preach truth but whose motivations or messages divert from the essence of the gospel.
