How do we know submission is true?

Answered in 1 source

Submission is true when it aligns with the teachings of Scripture and follows the example of Christ.

To determine if submission is true, we look to the Bible for guidance. Ephesians 5:21 emphasizes that submission to one another is rooted in reverence for Christ, showing that it must come from a heart transformed by the gospel. Furthermore, Jesus models perfect submission through His obedience to the Father, even to the point of death on the cross (Philippians 2:8). Therefore, true submission reflects our understanding of God's authority and the grace we've received in Christ.
